Sjogren’s Syndrome

Sjogren’s disease, is an autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own moisture producing glands. Lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, infiltrate and destroy these glands causing a decreased production of saliva and tears. It is one of the most common autoimmune disorders affecting 0.5 percent of Australians.

Our Mum and our biggest hero suffered from this condition for over 25 years. At the time of her diagnosis there was little to no information, now, The Australian Sjogren’s Syndrome Association is working towards making their dream, ‘Sjogren’s House’ a reality.  People suffering will be able to go for treatment and their carers can also join for a quick getaway.

$2.00 from every utensil sold will go directly to the Sjogren’s foundation assisting those who are living with the debilitating autoimmune disorder as well as finding treatments and cures for the disease.
